Celtic Culture Camp, sponsored by Lincoln Irish Dancers, is offering 9- 12 year olds an immersive learning experience featuring Irish, Scottish and Welsh traditions March 12 – 14, 2018 during LPS spring break. Youngsters will experience quality crafts, music demonstrations and poetry along with snacks and a traditional meal served at lunch. This immersive format allows students to discover what resonates with their own culture while exploring Celtic culture and customs.
Irish Dance (Ceili, kay-lee) is taught by Catherine Sherer Bishop from Jackson, Mississippi. Joining her is Nancy Konrardy, teaching artist and camp host at Roca Ridge. Other instruction during the camp is provided by local multi-instrumentalist, Dave Marsh (of Paddy Whack and Ellis Island), Shelby Knott, Aaron Proett and Jimmy Shelbourn. Both Nancy and Dave are on the teaching roster for the Nebraska Arts Council. Experience quality crafts, music.
